"Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being." — Genesis 2:7
Overview
Ruach Renewal™ is a guided, Christ-centered contemplative experience that combines breath prayer, Scripture meditation, worship, gentle movement, intercession, and trauma-informed wellness practices to help participants slow down, reconnect with God, and cultivate peace in mind, body, and spirit. The Hebrew word Ruach (רוּחַ) means breath, wind, or Spirit. Throughout Scripture, God's breath symbolizes life, renewal, empowerment, and divine presence.
Biblical Foundation
Unlike secular mindfulness practices, Ruach Renewal™ is rooted in biblical worship and discipleship. The focus is not emptying the mind, but filling it with the presence of Christ and the promises of Scripture.
The Theology of Breath
Throughout the Bible, breath is associated with God's creative and restorative work.
Genesis 2:7 — Breath of Life
God breathes life into Adam, demonstrating that life itself is a gift from Him.
Ezekiel 37 — The Valley of Dry Bones
The breath of God revives what was lifeless, illustrating spiritual renewal and hope.
John 20:22
After His resurrection, Jesus breathes on His disciples and says, "Receive the Holy Spirit."
Psalm 150:6
"Let everything that has breath praise the Lord." Every breath becomes an opportunity for worship and gratitude.
The Rhythm of Sacred Breathing
Participants are guided through intentional breathing paired with biblical meditation.
Inhale
- • Jesus, You are my peace.
- • Lord, fill me with Your Spirit.
- • Your grace is sufficient for me.
Pause
Rest quietly in God's presence and reflect on His promises.
Exhale
- • Release fear.
- • Release shame.
- • Release anxiety.
- • Release bitterness.
- • Release burdens into God's hands.
Scripture Installation
One unique aspect of Ruach Renewal™ is the intentional practice of "Scripture Installation." As participants enter a calm and prayerful state through worship and guided breathing, biblical truths are slowly spoken aloud and reflected upon.
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." — Psalm 23
"Be anxious for nothing." — Philippians 4:6–7
"God has not given us a spirit of fear." — 2 Timothy 1:7
"He heals the brokenhearted." — Psalm 147:3
"Peace I leave with you." — John 14:27
